ICEfaces Technical Blog Award for Springsteam Blog

At Halloween I found an email in my inbox, that I won the Award for Technical Blog in the Blog about ICEfaces Contest.

Well, I was quite happy about the T-Shirt I got some days ago, because I was one of the first 50 bloggers entering the contest.

I was quite late and had not much time to write something “useful” about ICEfaces at that moment. So, I remembered the last months and did a research how long ICEfaces is guest in my blog. It was over a year, as long as we use it productive in our project. Over a year?! I was quite amazed about this long period I’m in touch with the framework.

Ok, short before the contest I wrote about a special component, the connection status, and gave some tips how to use it even more flexible. In conjunction with a list of highlights, we found in our project using ICEfaces, I had enough information for a useful post. With a little play on words for the subject I wrote Icy Faces for More Than a Year and used this post in the form to enter the contest.

It was more a kind of “Support the Framework” thing. And to get extra hits on my blog ;-) . I didn’t really expected to win even a T-Shirt of the prizes list.

Well, I’m the winner of the Technical Blog category. So, it’s official now: my blog has a certain value to the community ;-) . I’m very happy about that.

Oh, I’ve to admit that the price I won, the iPod Touch (8GB), will be my first Apple product ever. Although, I’m a longtime fan of Apple’s case designs, and especially their user interfaces, I never bought one of their products. So, I’m quite happy to get one for free.

I had a look at Amazon.de for product details, because I didn’t observe the iPod product line the last years. It is worth over 200 Euros. I’m flashed. What a nice Xmas gift.

Many thanks to all Springsteam Blog supporters.
